FOREX OVERVIEW

Forex or FX is the name often referred to when discussing Foreign Exchange Trading. Forex is a currency market where the trading of one currency is done against another takes place. The type of Forex that is relevant to TDFX is referred to as Retail Foreign Exchange Brokers.

The retail Forex companies offer a link between clients (traders) and banks or liquidity providers. Essentially Tadawul FX is a Straight Through Processing (STP) Broker, meaning that as clients trade, their positions are automatically covered or traded with the banks that we work with. The most important factor for clients that a STP broker offers is that there is no dealing desk intervention. Clients are able to trade with real live Forex market conditions.

There are many types of traders, those that use fundamental Analysis and Technical Analysis to predict market movements. In recent year there has been a rapid growth in clients using software that trades for them, referred to as Expert Advisors (also known as EAs, Electronic Advisors or Robot traders). These are programmed software applications that monitor the market for specific movements and open positions to capture market opportunities. Money Managers are individuals or companies that are have trading experience and are seen as professional traders in the Forex market. Even clients that do not know how to trade may also benefit from the Forex market by having Money managers trade on their behalf.

The quality that makes the Forex industry unlike any other is that regardless of whether the market rates are rising (Bullish market) or falling (Bearish market) clients can still make profits. The reason for this is that the Forex industry has profit making potential based purely on market movement not on positive market movement only, unlike all other investment fields.

The foreign exchange market is the largest, most liquid and most influential market in the world. It is a truly 24 hour global market, it trades from 9pm GMT Sunday until 10pm GMT Friday and trades in excess of $3 trillion dollars a day, making it far bigger than the combined total of all the world’s stock exchanges.

Participants in Forex include central banks, corporations, individual investors and speculators and hedge funds. With the advent of online trading platforms such as Metatrader 4, self-directed investors and smaller financial firms now have access to the same liquidity as larger market participants.
